Parker Pen Refills
There is something about a well-balanced pen that appeals to the writer in everyone. In fact, ever since man began using tools to write with, there has been an ongoing search for the perfect writing tool. Every now and then, an individual would find or create one that worked for him. Luckily, for everyone, the Parker Pen Company produces finely crafted writing tools, commonly known as Parker pens. As the needs of the people have evolved, the Parker Company expanded into producing Parker pen cross pen refills, which are just as well made.
The history of the Parker pen refills can be traced back to the origin of fountain pens, which have been extant for at least 300 years. The first known pen was designed by M. Bion in 1702, which was said to be an impractical design. While there had been other individuals who had created writing tools that could carry their own ink supply, and while other individuals had patented various writing tools, it was John Jacob Parker who patented the first self-filling fountain pen in 1831.
The invention of the practical self-filling fountain pen, as well as the traditional Parker fountain pen refills, were hailed as an incredible success. Even so, the early fountain pen models were plagued by ink spills and other technical problems, which made them hard to sell. But that did not stop Parker. In fact, before the invention of the ball point pen, Parker Pens was always either number one or number two in the field of writing instrument sales. Over the years, the company went on to improve its original model and make the fountain pen easier to use and much more practical to refill.
The original Parker Pen refills were a messy business indeed. They constituted simply of bottles of ink that had to be poured into the pen barrel. However, modern day technology has brought many advances to the Parker pen refills business of expensive pens.
In 1931, Parker invented “Quink” or the quick drying ink that did not require blotting. This led to the creation of the most widely used model of fountain pen in history, which is the Parker 51. This has had over $400 million in sales since it was first introduced. Today, “Quink” is used in all of the Parker fountain pen refills. It comes either in the traditional ink bottles that one pours by himself to refill, or in practical plastic cartridges that are simply inserted into the body of the pen and tapped to get the ink flowing.
Parker makes more than just fountain pens now. Parker also makes gel pens and ball point pens. Parker also produces quality Parker pen refills for these. Both Parker gel pen refills and Parker ball point pen refills are available in plastic refills, which are plastic tubes that contain the pen’s ink and housed inside the body of the pen. When the ink runs out, the plastic refill tube is removed, and a new one is inserted. These refills can be purchased at any Parker pen refills
